The Bellini House and the International Institute will open its doors beginning 2007 to students, dancers, musicians and artists; individuals and small groups - interested in a multi-cultural artistic and educational exchange. The Bellini House is situated in beautiful hills between the Maremma and the Crete Senesi, in the castle town of Murlo, Italy.
Year round seminars and workshops will be offered, artistic and academic residencies and accommodatons for individuals and small groups for retreats, seminars and workshops in the village of the castle of Murlo.
Beginning in Summer 2007 -The Bellini House offers 2-4 week Workshops in Dance & Music that include artistic immersion and travels to Rome, Siena, Arezzo and Florence. Classes & Workshops in dance, music and the new sciences include Judith Bartlett (Royal Ballet), David Peat ( Physicist). Arnold Smith ( Musician & Physicist) and Jayne Persch; Painting and Pastels with Margaret Exton Jaffe. Workshops in Craniosacral Therapy ( Upledger Method) with invited guests include Susan D. Pinto - Self-Corrective Methods and Diego Maggio, Upledger Instituto - Trieste, Italy . CranioSacral Therapy and the Dolphin Excursion is now being planned.
Number of Participants is limited. A performance company limited to 8 dancers and musicians will be formed through audition and interview -with performance opportunites in Siena, Murlo and Arezzo.

BRIAH Danse'
began in 1996 as a group of dedicated dancers celebrating dance for the Festivsl OFF D'Avignon. They continued to do my work into the MacDowell Centennial Celebration.
I would like to work again with spirited dancers excited to explore new and old possibilities of non-verbal communication, majesty and awe expressed through the human body in new styles and developing techniques.
Recently, I have travelled through Italy, Spain, Germany and Austria to be told that the 'spirit' in or perhaps behind dance is dead - that we are ensnarled in tricks and shock, restircted and abandoned because of finances - because we have lost heart ~
I think there is a time here for new possibilities...Perhaps I am wrong or perhaps we just have not taken the risks ~
I have a vision. I believe in a future with,and through dance, movement and the arts - gloriously working together! If you have a strong technical background in classical or contemporary ballet, modern dance or a strong training in the new techniques and style; If you are a visual or musical artist who would like to work with dance and would like to join me as a dancer, choreographer or visual artist... I look forward to the possibilities of working with you. I would like to work with spirited dancers, musicians and visual artists - explore the new and old dimensions, perhaps creating new techniques, styles and possibilties of movement.... that reach out, express of our souls and use our bodies with majesty and awe! ..... A Contemporary Dance Company
BRIAH is a Dance Repertory Group open to professional dancers as well as serious intermediate-advanced and pre-professional transitional dancers as well as artists musicians who wish to collaborate. The Company offers a performance arm for the BRIAH/Persch Approach®™to Movement and Contemporary Dance where dancers can experiment and experience movement dance that is ‘safe’, that begins ‘inside’ but produces exquisite emotional qualities and mental prowess that defy time and spatial concepts. New choreography, new music, new approaches to classic work… It also provides an exhibition opportunity for artists who have incorporated some of the BRIAH/Persch Approach in the visual and musical arts – sets, photography, slides, sculpture can be both exhibited and integrated in performances. Music created or correlated to movement can be used for choreography or vice versa – choreography can be created to the resonance of tones in both old and new. Studies of music and movement can be worked into exhibition and performance pieces.
For professionals, Briah Danse´ offers the opportunity to dance with less chance of injury; to understand muscle to organ to psychological responses - offering the chance for greater or deeper emotion and wider range of movement in roles, the healing of old injuries, patterns or woundings - some of which may have been crippling prior to Briah work. Together we will create a collaborative of professional artists through dance - an eclectic company of professional dancers and artists from around the world, performing both classical and contemporary works in dance & movement ~ perhaps as they have not been seen before or in the recent past.
MEMBERSHIPS: Ms. Persch is a memeber of the International asscociation of Health Practitioners ( IAHP) and the American CranoSacral therapy Association of America (ACSTA) as well as International Association of Dance Medicine and Science. she is also an active member of AMTA, American Massage Therapy Association, PAMA, Performing Arts Medicine Association, PAAM, Physicians of Anthroposophical Medicine, PPANA, Pre and Perinatal Association of North America. Jayne Persch is licensed in both New Hampshire and California where she maintains a private practice.

An Alternative Approach to Body/Mind & Mind/Body Therapies, Movement & Dance
Training & Application
I begin always as a dancer and an artist with an acute awareness of the body, its emotions and the power of the mind – with creativity! I continue with rehabilitating the broken, torn – the pushed and pulled muscles and frames to rediscover the power of the psyche, the memories and emotions. This leads me into psychology and counseling where I have come to believe that the medicine of the future is an understanding the ‘confluence of body and spirit’. BRIAH is a Kabalistic word meaning – life spirit. It is another word for chi and also means ever - creating - anew....~
So many people have asked me to write or teach what I know about anatomy and kinesiology or kinesthetics. They say that somehow my students and dancers are different - and ask ‘how come?’ Parents wonder how I can/do troubleshoot illnesses. Therapists and teachers ask how I can see? What is the bridge? It is not magic. It comes from so many years of study and correlations, from some of the greatest teachers and minds and also having the greatest of opportunities to teach and work with so many children and adults. Each person has brought a wonder load of material and information that confirms; affirms what I have learned in bridging material from my mentors in physiology, psychology, physics and the new sciences. This is a new road for me - offering a Training Course in understanding the body, the mind and spirit. There are really two sections to this work that dove tail together through an alternative look at the human process. On one hand there is the body and an artistic side. This information is useful and important to dancers, athletes, performance artists such as skaters; gymnasts as well as to body workers such as massage therapists, personal trainers, yoga instructors and teachers of dance and movement. It could be important to visual artists such as painters, sculptors, videographers, photographers as well - as they pursue their training and careers in performance, production and exhibition ~ In understanding more about our ‘instrument’ – the human body- we can prevent injuries, rehabilitate former distortions and potential injuries. We can look at and bring an emotional as well as mental quality into our work by understanding the housing of histories, memories, emotions and psychological responses in bodies. We can evoke emotions, portray a thought and resemble the effects and resonance of color and tone – if we only know how to move and ‘where’ to move from. This brings us to another aspect of the work ~ For teachers and therapists, clinicians, body workers who work not only with the body but also the mind and spirit of their students, clients and patients – this therapeutic introduction to the correlation of muscles to organs to types of memories and psychological responses and the use of color and tone, might well serve as an alternative modality. I hope to share the material I have gathered with colleagues who work and teach through the body and the mind ~ who rehabilitate and enhance human possibilities. I simply offer another vantage point or possible tools that might be integrated into your work. They are tools that I have tested and found to be more than useful while continuing to teach in the studio, reaching out into other schools and therapeutic centers. My Foundation Classes, therapeutic massage, counselling, and consultations are an outgrowth of years of training with great minds and spirits such as Drs. Michael Conforti, Yoram Kaufman, and F. David Peat. and the cievement of Masters Degrees in Dance in Education and Psychology. I believe that we need more people who can teach and bridge new and old material; use information in therapy, toward health and well-being of body, mind and spirit. I have called my work BRIAH/Persch Approach - with an Introduction; Level I, II and Mastery Certification... You see BRIAH ultimately leads to HYPAXIS... the dignity of being human. The Persch Approach/Briah Movement® ™can be for everyone and anyone who wants to take the time to look and see the human being from an old-new way; who will discipline themselves to study and challenge their work and will take great diligence in application. This Approach offers an alternative understanding of body and mind, emotions and memories, psyche and spirit. It introduces new thoughts to be considered about the effects of colors and tones ~ their resonance and wavelengths; the housing of memories of todays and yesteryears ~ heredity and the promise of the future. The information offered is a useful tool for individuals, parents, massage and movement practitioners, counseling therapists, personal trainers, dancers, choreographers and others. When I am asked - who should study this information, I will answer ~ evryone and anyone who sincerely believes in the precious value of each and every living being; who would like to feel and contribute to a world in peace, using all of it resources for all.
COURSES OF STUDY ~For those interested in pursuing a course of study; there will first be an Introduction – followed by Level I Series of 9 Weekend Workshops that together with Classes in Foundation Movement will offer a Practitioner Certification to qualify each person to use the Persch Approach/BRIAH in Dance & Movement Classes, Personal Training Sessions and Therapy Sessions.Level ICertification - The journeyman must have an understanding of the anatomy and physiology offered in the workshops sufficient so that there will be no misapplication either in dance or therapy sessions. A historical perspective on Therapeutic Movement and a basic understanding of the correlation of muscles to organs to memories and the Integration of Color, Tone & Movement. In time there will be a Level II and Mastery Level Training series, testing and certifications.

An Introduction to BRIAH /Persch Approach®™ ~Movement...
The Introduction will explain in a cursory way - that muscles co-respond to organs and organs to emotions, responses, memories and thoughts. It will give an overview of Anatomy and some simple movement to access an application of understanding. We will discuss physics and the new sciences, the wavelengths of color and tones; new sciences and old alchemy; pattern recognition-distortions and enhancements; physiological psychology, time & space. One Workshop - 3-4 Hrs. $125 .

Level I –
A Beginning ~ Alternative Understanding of Anatomy – beginning with our bones; draping them with muscles corresponding to organs; organs living in systems, organs and systems co-relating to memories and carrying psychological responses. A study of dynamic time and space – the wisdom of the body. An articulation/understanding of the energy called Life-spirit/life-force~ physically, mentally, emotionally, behaviorally and environmentally. Recognizing ‘it’ spiritually; tracing, exploring, understanding ‘it’ though ancient and recent historical traditions. Encountering ‘it’ in movement such as Tai Chi, Ballet, Eurythmy, the Hula, Native American and African Dance. Hearing Color and seeing tones - Studying through body-mind psychology and the new sciences - How wave lengths effect bodies. A new look at the human body:systems of the body; from bones to skin; muscles to organs; to color & tone. The body as a holograph. The human body in relationship to minerals, plants and animals. Understanding the body and opening the mind. The use of the arts for arts' sake, creativity and the expansion of the mind.Excitement about being human.
For Dancers and Artists - this training program may also include practicum in teaching and choreography; the opportunities to teach, choreograph and dance with BRIAH Contemporary Dance Company and to present work nationally and internationally. For Therapists & Clinicians – a network for integrated work.
For performers, artists – if you know where an emotion is housed in your body… and you can originate a movement from this place – think of the power in that movement!Feel the energy that you can portray in a simple posture or gesture or a grand movement in dance. AND, if you know that colors and tones correspond to muscles and organs and emotions – could you use that information to interpret music or design sets and costumes, lighting as well as movement?
For caretakers, doctors, nurses, and therapists – if you remembered that a muscle corresponds to an organ, in a system and to an emotion - could you use that information to understand a dis-ease?Or perhaps if, in working on the physical aspects of the illness – nothing was working…. Could you then possibly look into the psychological/emotional-mental entrapment in the organ and muscles of that person?
As Teachers in movement and dance – we are responsible for the effects of not only ‘what’ we do but ‘how’ we do it. The way we teach will always be with a student – whether they become dancers or Indian chiefs.It is woven into the fabric of their being – physically, mentally and emotionally.Through the training of their muscles we affect, their organs and system of their bodies.Through our choices of music, rhythm, melody and tone we effect how they grow, shift and change.We are responsible for the balancing of each student as we put him or her through the rigors of training.We do not have to damage a body not a mind or diminish a spirit in reaching toward an excellence.The goal of any physical training is rather toward health… So, in this sense, dance and movement can be used to enhance the well-being of all its students.This Approach can be used as a therapeutic alternative both in and out of the classroom.
Level II –
Further/deeper understanding of the body: systems, chakras, energy points; the mind-body: correlation of the Body systems to memories and thinking; the soul-mind-body: correlation of the 11 systems to memories, thinking and feeling. Exploration of movement & dance: ancient, traditional; classical, modern & contemporary; sacred and mundane; day-to-day. Recognizing color and tone and their affects on the human body & mind; their use in the arts, in therapies as well as mental and physical health. Holographic Understanding& Holographic Patterning – the application of Quantum Physics and the New Sciences.
FEES & SCHEDULE for Year II is similar in nature to Year I with the exception and required addition of a one week Intensive in Europe. Location will change based on the artistic 'spirit' of the group. 9 Monthly Meetings/2 phone Consultations per month/ 1 2hr. Foundation Class minimum per month/ 1 Week Us Intensive/ Opportunities to lecture and teach about individual experiences in the application of this method in your work as well as the possibilities to work with students in Hypaxis Studio/School Programs and/or perform or work with BRIAH Contemporary Dance Co. Certification for Level II will consist of testing and oral/visual/video presentation or written material of application of this work into your life.
Mastery Level –
For those people interested in Mastery Certificate – Practicums in your chosen area will be arranged during all levels. For Dancers, Choreographers & Artists there is the opportunity to work with BRIAH Contemporary Dance Company.For teachers – you can work with and through Hypaxis teaching and sharing your passions; reaching out and into communities.
The Persch Approach/BRIAH Movement®™ may also be used and introduced to companies and individual dancers as a preventative and rehabilative modality as well as a alternative or deeper tool in coaching and teaching that furthers an understanding of individual bodies in movement.This Approach may produce both longevity for dancers and an exquisite movement quality for individual and ensemble work. As it creates an ‘connective ness’ through the use of the new sciences information.
